          I may be a bit of a misfit here.  I am a Messianic Christian working as the Sexton (caretaker) for a Unitarian Universalist church.  I live onsite in the forest at the top of Carmel Hill in the Monterey Bay area of Central Coast California.  Although we have Cal-Am water and PG&E utilities, we also have our own solar panels, well water, and septic system.  It is a green building to which we are making more green building additions.  We are working on the Low Carbon Diet plan to reduce our carbon footprint and implementing the Green Sanctuary plan.

          I am an environmentalist who swore off automobiles 16 years ago and get around on foot, by bicycle, and with public transportation.  I majored in Environmental Science with an Engineering Concentration in college and have taken sumer intensive courses in Oceanography, Water Quality, and Desert Ecology.  As a Christian I believe that caring for the earth is a spiritual experience and responsibility.

          I have been a member of this email listserv for a while and felt it is time I introduced myself.  Thank you for all the good information and ideas I have read through this group.
